Streszczenie
Hipoterapia (terapia z udziałem konia)
określana jest jako ukierunkowane działanie
terapeutyczne, mające służyć poprawie
funkcjonowania człowieka, podczas
którego specjalnie dobrany i przygotowany
koń stanowi integralną część procesu
terapeutycznego. W 2022 r. oceniono
stan psychiczny polskich koni hipoterapeutycznych
oraz wyodrębniono takie
cechy, które predysponują je bardziej od
innych osobników – do pracy w hipoterapii.
Badane konie cechował umiarkowany
temperament i zrównoważony charakter,
bywały one flegmatyczne, chętnie współpracowały
z instruktorem i były posłuszne.
Opiekunowie oceniali je jako bardziej
niż inne inteligentne i empatyczne. Konie
panowały nad instynktem stadnym i potrafiły
funkcjonować w sytuacji odłączenia
od stada jak również akceptowały bliską
obecność nawet kilku osób jednocześnie,
z każdej strony ciała. Koń do pracy w hipoterapii
musi być odpowiednio dojrzały psychicznie, powyżej 5 roku życia, ważne
jest, aby dobrze poznać warunki wychowu
zwierzęcia, ustalić czy nie oddziaływały na
niego negatywne bodźce. Musi umieć przez
stosunkowo długi czas stać bez ruchu, nie
może bać się sprzętów towarzyszących pacjentom.
Nie ma 2 identycznych pacjentów
ani identycznych koni terapeutycznych, nawet
najbardziej zaawansowane urządzenia
nie są w stanie wygenerować tylu bodźców,
co koń, a jego stan psychiczny ma ogromny
wpływ na jakość i efektywność terapii.
Hippotherapy (horse-assisted therapy) is defined as a targeted therapeutic action aimed at improving human functioning, during which a specially selected and prepared horse is an integral part of the therapeutic process. In 2022, the mental state of Polish hippotherapy horses was assessed and such features were distinguished that predispose them more than other individuals – to work in hippotherapy. The horses examined were characterized by a moderate temperament and balanced character, they were sometimes phlegmatic, willingly cooperated with the instructor and were obedient. The carers assessed them as more intelligent and empathetic than others. The horses controlled the herd instinct and were able to function in a situation of separation from the herd, as well as accept the close presence of even several people at the same time, on each side of the body. A horse for work in hippotherapy must be suitably mature mentally, over 5 years of age, it is important to get to know the conditions of the animal’s rearing well, to determine whether it was not affected by negative stimuli. A horse must be able to stand still for a relatively long time, it cannot be afraid of the equipment accompanying the patients. There are no two identical patients or identical therapeutic horses, even the most advanced devices are not able to generate as many stimuli as a horse, and its mental state has a huge impact on the quality and effectiveness of the therapy.
