Streszczenie
Celem rozdziału była ocena związku między
poziomem nadziei a nasileniem objawów
zespołu stresu pourazowego (PTSD). Przeprowadzono
badanie z udziałem 65 osób,
w tym 43 kobiet i 22 mężczyzn. Wykorzystano
ustrukturyzowaną ankietę do zbierania
danych socjodemograficznych, Międzynarodowy
Kwestionariusz Traumy (ITQ) oraz
Wskaźnik Nadziei Hertha (HHI). W badaniu
postawiono hipotezę, że nadzieja jest
negatywnie związana z nasileniem objawów
PTSD oraz nie występują różnice międzypłciowe
w nasilenie objawów PTSD i poziomie
nadziei. Hipotezy te zostały wyprowadzone
na podstawie koncepcji Snydera
(2002), że nadzieja jest procesem poznawczo-
motywacyjnym, który jest kluczowym
czynnikiem w terapii traumy. Składa się ona
z trzech komponentów: myślenia o celu, myślenia
o ścieżce i myślenia o agencji. Hipoteza
dotycząca braku różnic między płciami
opierała się na wcześniejszych badaniach, które nie wykryły żadnego związku między
nadzieją a płcią (Valle i in., 2006). Uzyskane
wyniki analiz potwierdzają hipotezę badawczą.
Korelacja między zmiennymi nadzieja
i poziom nasilenia objawów PTSD jest istotna,
ale statystycznie słaba. Nie stwierdzono
statystycznie istotnych różnic między kobietami
i mężczyznami w badanych aspektach.
Badanie pokazuje, że ważne jest skupienie
się na nadziei w procesie terapeutycznym
u osób z PTSD. Warto również zastanowić
się podczas pracy z pacjentem o niskim poziomie
nadziei, czy doświadczył on w przeszłości
traumy, ponieważ oba te aspekty są
skorelowane i mogą na siebie wpływać.
The chapter aimed to examine the relationship between the level of hope and the severity of posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms (PTSD). A study was conducted with the participation of 65 people, of whom 43 were women and 22 were men. In the study, a structured survey to collect sociodemographic data, the International Trauma Questionnaire (ITQ), and the Herth Hope Index (HHI) were used. The study hypothesized that hope is negatively associated with the severity of PTSD symptoms, and that neither the severity of PTSD symptoms nor the level of hope differs between genders. These hypotheses were derived based on Snyder’s (2002) concept that hope is a cognitive-motivational process that is a key factor in trauma therapy. It consists of three components: goal thinking, path thinking, and agency thinking. The second hypothesis regarding gender was based on previous studies that did not detect any relationship between hope and gender (Valle et al., 2006). The results of the analyses support the research hypothesis. The correlation between the variables hope and the level of PTSD symptom intensity is significant, but statistically weak. No statistically significant differences were detected between women and men in the aspects studied. The study shows that it is important to focus on hope in the therapeutic process in people with PTSD. It is also worth considering when working with a patient with a low level of hope whether they have experienced trauma in the past, as both aspects are correlated and may influence each other.
