The aim of the article is to identify the mechanism of regional cultural and economic
diversification in Poland along with a presentation of prognoses for the future.
Material and methods: The article consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. In the first of the
mentioned, the method of analysis is a discussion of sociological theories . The second part is a diagnosis of
regional diversification of economic cultures based on data.
Results: The results allow us to draw several conclusions. First, the classic indicator of economic
development (GDP per capita) remains in a strong positive relationship with regional innovation indices.
Innovation indices should be treated as a new, adequate to the times measure of development. Second,
economic development has, in a sense, an axiological context.
Conclusions: Based on theoretical and empirical analysis, it can be stated that the next stage of development
will emerge from the reconciliation of the previously antagonized axiological environments.
