Streszczenie

Insufficient levels of physical activity are a significant contributor to chronic noncommunicable
diseases such as diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease.
Recommendations from the World Health Organization include both general
guidelines and activity recommendations specific to age, pregnancy, disease, and
disability to help maintain good health and fitness. Assessing physical activity levels,
as well as researching its correlates and determinants, is essential for understanding
why people are physically active or inactive. This, in turn, contributes to evidencebased
planning of public health interventions.
