RekordThe importance of corporate social responsibility (csr) for msp companies in Poland: benefits, barriers and good practice examples / Znaczenie społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu (CSR) dla przedsiębiorstw z sektora MSP: korzyści, bariery i przykłady dobrych praktyk(Akademia Bialska im. Jana Pawła II, 2025-04-09)Subject and purpose of the work: The subject of the study was corporate social responsibility (CSR) in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Poland. In turn, the aim of the study was to identify the benefits and barriers associated with the introduction of CSR in SMEs and to present the practices applied by such enterprises in the indicated scope. Materials and methods: A desk research analysis was carried out in this article, using data from PARP statistics, reports and scientific publications. Results: The findings address the awareness of CSR among SMEs and present examples of good practice by these companies. The role of the upcoming ESG and CSRD regulations, which are expected to influence sustainability reporting by SMEs, is highlighted. The research shows that the level of recognition of the term CSR among Polish SMEs is low. Only 21.8% of surveyed entrepreneurs were aware of the term. Nevertheless, among companies aware of the importance of CSR, the majority perceive it as an important element of business activity. Among the CSR practices applied by Polish SMEs, those related to employee health are mentioned most frequently. Many companies also engage in dialogue with employees in order to better understand their needs and adapt their activities to them. There is also a growing environmental awareness among entrepreneurs, which translates into the implementation of pro-environmental solutions. Conclusions: The low level of CSR awareness among SMEs in Poland indicates the need for further educational activities in this area. Implementing CSR in SMEs brings many benefits, such as improving the company’s image, increasing customer and employee loyalty, reducing operating costs and increasing competitiveness. However, there are barriers to implementing this strategy, such as limited funds, lack of knowledge, insufficient staff and competitive pressure, among others.

RekordFeminism-based rural development in India: changing perspectives and way ahead / Rozwój obszarów wiejskich w Indiach oparty na feminizmie: Zmieniające się perspektywy i dalsze działania(Akademia Bialska im. Jana Pawła II, 2025-04-09)Subject and purpose of work: This paper reflects that change needs to be conceptualized as a process in which women are active agents or natural participants. It examines microfinance through three dimensions of social change, analyzing its role in addressing gender inequities and economic marginalization. Materials and methods: The study is based on a comprehensive review of literature on microfinance, feminism, and social change, analyzing its impact on women’s empowerment. It applies feminist theories to assess whether microfinance alleviates or reinforces gender disparities. Results: Scholars and policymakers have different perspectives on the effectiveness of microfinance programs. Proponents of microfinance see it as empowering women through economic activities, while critics argue it fosters exploitation by increasing debt burdens. Conclusion: The study concludes that the effectiveness of microfinance in empowering women depends on structural and policy frameworks, requiring feminist-informed policies to address systemic issues for sustainable social change and gender equity.

RekordReform of the bridging pension system – new rights and their economic consequences / Reforma systemu emerytur pomostowych – nowe uprawnienia i ich ekonomiczne konsekwencje(Akademia Bialska im. Jana Pawła II, 2025-04-09)Subject and purpose of work: This research aims to determine the economic consequences of making bridging pensions permanent. We predict that this will increase the number of beneficiaries and the overall cost of the program. Materials and methods: The presented study is the result of research in which the author used both quantitative methods (analysis of statistical data) and analysis of legal acts together with analysis of the legislative process. Results: The change in the regulations on bridging pensions will improve the situation of people working in difficult conditions, but is associated with a significant increase in budget expenditure and loss of revenue from contributions. Conclusions: The expiring nature of bridging pensions was the result of regulations, not case law. Although the change is in line with the recommendations of the ILO and the EC, its removal is more political and short-term in nature, burdened with long-term consequences for the state.

Jana Pawła II, 2025-04-09)Subject and purpose of work: The aim of the article is to determine which elements of the transport infrastructure in a resort town are considered important by respondents in assessing tourist accessibility. The study focuses on economic and spatial aspects. Materials and methods: Exploratory factor analysis was used for the analysis, based on data collected through a CAWI questionnaire from a random sample of 1,000 Poles. Results: Four key areas of infrastructure were identified: general, bicycle transport, public transport, and amenities for people with disabilities. Conclusions: The transport accessibility of a resort town is largely determined by the quality of the general infrastructure. Tourists prefer individual transport, highlighting the importance of well developed road infrastructure. Bicycle infrastructure and public transport also play significant roles, especially for tourists who prefer active and ecological means of transport. Amenities for people with disabilities are crucial for ensuring equal access to tourist attractions.
