RekordThe prediction model for advertising campaigns in IPTV networks based on the possibilities of displaying geographically targeted messages / Model predykcji kampanii reklamowych w sieciach IPTV w oparciu o możliwości wyświetlania komunikatów targetowanych geograficznie(Akademia Bialska im. Jana Pawła II, 2024-09-30) Chmielewska, Aleksandra Maria ; Grabowski, Marcin TomaszSubject and purpose of work: This paper presents a novel predictive model for advertising campaigns in IPTV networks that uses the advanced geolocation-based display of advertising messages. Thanks to advanced data analysis and modern geolocation technologies, the proposed model enables the more precise planning and optimisation of advertising campaigns. Advertisers can thus better understand the preferences and behaviours of audiences in different geographical regions. This allows the creation of more tailored and engaging content of programmes and advertisements, leading to higher levels of viewer engagement in the content presented and increasing the effectiveness of campaigns. Materials and methods: For the purposes of the project, data from the IPTV advertising campaign covering from 50,000 to 500,000 displays between 23rd January 2024 and 20th March 2024 were used. The TERYT database and the list of counties were used to increase the precision of target group targeting. Viewer rating and interaction data were collected and analysed to assess the effectiveness of the campaign. The methodology included monitoring the number of channel switches, advertising message views, complete views, the average display time of the advertising message and unique reach in different time periods.

RekordFDI and their participation in global value chains: An analysis based on East Asia / Bezpośrednie inwestycje zagraniczne i ich udział w globalnych łańcuchach wartości: Analiza na przykładzie Azji Wschodniej(Akademia Bialska im. Jana Pawła II, 2024-09-30) Yana Mbena, JacquesSubject and purpose of work: East Asia, particularly China, Japan, and South Korea has experienced rapid economic growth in recent decades, partly through active participation in global value chains (GVCs). Foreign direct investment (FDI) has played a crucial role in this process, enabling the transfer of technology and skills and access to international markets. This paper aims to empirically analyse the effects of FDI on GVCs in East Asian countries over the last two decades. Materials and methods: The paper covers six East Asian countries from 2000 to 2022 and explores the relationship between FDI and GVCs using the Driscoll and Kraay (1998) estimator. The estimation techniques are ordinary least squares (OLS) and feasible generalized least squares (FGLS). Results: The results reveal that FDI inflows into East Asia positively and significantly affect the countries participation in GVCs, both upstream and downstream. Conclusions: These results suggest the need to support FDI in Asian countries to improve their participation in GVCs.

RekordASEAN and European Union addressing the challenges of the 21st century / ASEAN i Unia Europejska wobec wyzwań XXI wieku(Akademia Bialska im. Jana Pawła II, 2024-09-30) Chytopoulou, EleniSubject and purpose of work: The European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are trade partners and believe in rules-based multilateralism. They have developed strong ties despite starting from different starting points and having different standards. The EU is a mature regional cooperation scheme(union) with a highly institutionalized and legalized architecture. At the same time, ASEAN is an intergovernmental association with low institutionalization and legalization in which decisions are made by consensus. After almost fifty years of establishing a diplomatic dialogue between the EU and ASEAN, their cooperation has been of essential importance in maintaining peace and balancing great power rivalries.Materials and methods:Bibliography in books and articles. Results: The EU and ASEAN are among the world’s largest economies in terms of gross domestic product. The EU is already the world’s second-largest economy, and ASEAN could become the world’s fourth-largest economy by 2030. The EU looks forward to strengthening its economic cooperation with ASEAN to maintain its competitive position in the dynamically developing region of the Indo-Pacific. ASEAN is a crucial hub for transporting European goods and is essential in regional supply chains. Closer trade and investment relations could also help the EU achieve its goal of a strategic partnership between the two regional blocks encompassing political and economic cooperation. It would be desirable if the EU and ASEAN continue to connect Europe and Asia by acting as balancers and reducing tensions between the major international players. Conclusions: In the 21st century, the rise of China, India, and other regional powers is consolidating a multipolar system and new geopolitical balances. In this new era, the EU and ASEAN can continue to connect Europe and Asia by acting as balancers and reducing tensions between the major international players.

RekordThe relationship between economic integration, economic growth and high technology: Eurasian economic integration and Turkey / Związek między integracją gospodarczą, wzrostem gospodarczym i zaawansowanymi technologiami: Euroazjatycka integracja gospodarcza i Turcja(Akademia Bialska im. Jana Pawła II, 2024-09-30) Çakmakli, Bahadır MuratSubject and purpose of work: Economic integration is an extremely important institutional structure for countries in international trade, which is highly competitive, with the level of globalisation, innovation and communication technology. Materials and methods: Economic integration, which leads to the formation of a resilient economic wall, such as risk sharing, increasing investment opportunities, free trade structure, technology transfer opportunities, common competitiveness against countries outside the union, began in the modern world with the Second World War, and examples began to be seen around the world in the 1990s when globalisation accelerated. The analysis was carried out using the Todo-Yamamoto method in the SPSS program. Results: Due to its geopolitical position (both historical and geographical proximity to Europe, Asia and the Middle East), Turkey is in a more advantageous position than other countries in the world in terms of establishing or becoming economically integrated. However, Turkey’s history of economic integration has been rather unsuccessful. The fact that it has not made a sufficient contribution to the integration it has established or attempted to become a member of, and that it has become a unipolar rather than a multipolar integrator, means that it has not achieved sufficient efficiency in terms of international trade. For this reason, our study analyses Turkey’s relationship with Eurasian economic integration, with the idea that Turkey is striving for multipolar integration. In our study, the impact of the Eurasian Economic Integration’s foreign trade with Turkey on Turkey’s economic growth and exports of high-tech products was analysed with the Todo-Yamamoto Co-Integration Test in two periods, 2002-2015 and 2015-2022. Conclusions: As a result of the analysis, it is found that Eurasian Economic Integration has a positive effect on Turkey’s economic growth and exports of high-tech products. In the light of the data obtained, it has been assessed that the expansion of economic integration relations with the EEE and the benefits to be derived from the membership relationship will contribute to both Turkey’s economic growth and its technological infrastructure.

RekordFrom greenwashing to green marketing – an approach to change consumer behaviour towards environmental issues in emerging countries / Od greenwashingu do „zielonego” marketingu – podejście do zmiany zachowań konsumentów w odniesieniu do kwestii środowiskowych w krajach wschodzących(Akademia Bialska im. Jana Pawła II, 2024-09-30) Bouchareb, NasserThis study proposes greenwashing as a paradigm for altering consumer attitudes toward environmental challenges in emerging countries. This technique uses greenwashing as a planned obsolescence strategy to shift consumer attitudes toward environmental issues and eventually transition to a true green marketing approach. Despite the adverse perceptions connected with greenwashing, the study contends that it can play an important role in raising awareness about environmental concerns and promoting more responsible behaviour. It is important to be aware that greenwashing should not be considered to be a long-term solution. Government intervention is required to regulate and enforce acceptable practices in order to accomplish real change. The primary goal of this study is to provide a clear understanding of greenwashing’s function in influencing consumer views.

RekordData envelopment analysis of cooperative efficiency and members’ deposit in Ogun state, Nigeria / Analiza obwiednich danych do oceny efektywności spółdzielni i depozytów członkowskich w stanie Ogun w Nigerii(Akademia Bialska im. Jana Pawła II, 2024-09-30) Sofoluwe, Nurudeen Afolabi ; Akano, Latifat Omolara ; Adewunmi, Simisola TemiloluwaSubject and purpose of work: Cooperatives offer significant opportunities for economic empowerment of people in difficult economic climates. However, concerns exist in literature on the efficiency level of these organisations in relation to members’ deposits and financial-related factors. This study analysed the influence of members’ deposits and related financial factors on the efficiency level of cooperative organisations. Materials and methods: Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and the Tobit regression model were used to analyse the secondary data collected from 99 cooperative organisations over 7 years. Results: Empirical results indicate a low level of efficiency below 50%. Further evidence from Tobit regression identified the significant effect of loan (β = 2.05, t = 3.41, p < 0.01), interest rate (β = 1.07, t = 2.16, p < 0.05), surplus (p < 0.05), expenses (p < 0.01), cooperative age (p < 0.01) and saving deposits (p < 0.10) on cooperative efficiency. Conclusions: The efficiency level of cooperatives is low, and the contribution of deposits is also negative, but potential to raise the level of efficiency exists with organisational management of loans and interest rates. Increasing cooperative efficiency is imperative to achieve the expected economic support from organisations.
