The article aims to present the issue of changes in educational environments
by children placed in various forms of foster care. The issue of social orphanhood resulting
from the double rejection of children was discussed. Bowlby’s attachment theory was
presented. The issue of the effects of social orphanhood and the consequences suffered by
children due to changes in their educational environments were analyzed.
Material and methods: Analysis of articles dealing with the issue of social orphanhood, its
consequences, and the effects of changes in foster environments by children.
Results: The changes in children’s foster environments have a negative impact on their
socio-emotional development.
Conclusions: In the implementation of care and educational functions for children in
foster care, the possibility of attachment disorders affecting the development of children’s
relationships with other people should be taken into account.
