(Akademia Bialska Nauk Stosowanych im. Jana Pawła II, 2022-12-30) Baykara Mat, Seda Tugba ; Baykal, Ulku
Background. The continuous increase in healthcare spending and problems experienced in payment/ insurance systems have brought the issue of hospital extravagance to the agenda. To achieve efficiency in the healthcare sector and prevent wasteful behavior, it is important to use all resources in a costeffective manner. This study aimed to determine the views of healthcare workers on wasteful behavior in hospitals. Material and methods. This study employed a descriptive qualitative design. The data were collected through in-person in-depth interviews with 60 participants working at private, university and state hospitals. A semi-structured interview form was used in the study. The Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Studies (COREQ) were applied to organize and report the study. Results. The data obtained in the study were examined under two themes named “Wasteful Behavior” and “Precautions”, as well as categories under these two themes. Conclusions. The participants stated that there are many aspects of extravagance practiced at hospitals, but they saw the sustainable use of resources with a set of precautions to be taken possible. Presenting the views and recommendations of healthcare professionals will provide an important source of data for administrators in terms of sustainability efforts.

A cross-sectional analysis of the challenges faced by Hungarian women’s first division football teams based on coaches and players statistics
(Akademia Bialska Nauk Stosowanych im. Jana Pawła II, 2022-12-30) Tóth, Dorottya ; Ács, Pongrác ; Derkács, Evelin ; Prémusz, Viktória ; Krutek, László ; Szabó, Zoltán ; Filó, Csilla ; Elbert, Gábor
Background. The current situation experienced by football clubs in the Hungarian women’s first division was analyzed. It was assumed that: one of the obstacles for the development is the presence of non-skilled sports experts (H1); all the foreign players achieve better results than the Hungarians (H2); and the foreign players are older than the Hungarians on average (H3). Material and methods. In this study, the qualifications of the coaches in women’s football were compared with those in the men’s first division. The number of games played, performance statistics and average age amongst the players were studied as well. The data was analyzed using crosstab and two sample T-tests. Results. H1 was confirmed by T-test and the significant result between the two groups was p=0.00. H2 was confirmed as well: the performance analysis was significant and the foreign players achieve better results (p=0.001). The Hungarian players have better results in terms of the number of games, the number of performances in the starting lineup and the number of seasons played in the first division. Conclusions. The examined problems in Hungarian women’s football have been proven. All the areas of women’s football considered in this study require development, especially in terms of the academic qualities of the coaches, which widely affect the team’ performance.

Application of portfolio matrix for resource allocation purposes in sports: the case of Hungary
(Akademia Bialska Nauk Stosowanych im. Jana Pawła II, 2022-12-30) Hoffbauer, Márk ; Ács, Pongrác ; Stocker, Miklós ; Paár, Dávid
Background. Sports can function in a number of contexts in society, therefore government-related financial contribution can be justified. The resource allocation decisions of the contributor are always a relevant topic. The aim of this paper was to create a modified portfolio matrix tool for resource allocation purposes, which can be used at the national, regional, municipal or organizational level. Material and methods. The study consists of two researches conducted with the use of Google Forms. Two target groups (sports clubs from Baranya County and outstanding sports clubs in Hungary) were taken into consideration. Results. During the interviews in each group of sports clubs, 40 and 52 sports respectively were evaluated. The 12 most important sports were selected for this study. It can be seen that there is no significant difference between the regional and national rankings of sports. Outstanding sports clubs evaluated the given sports higher overall than regional sports clubs with regard to both categories: “the future vision of sport” and “the current impact”. Conclusions. The sport portfolio matrix can serve as the basis for the resource allocation decisions, but it has to be complemented with other funding schemes as this tool incentivizes mostly present performance, whereas strategic considerations should have another platform.

(Akademia Bialska Nauk Stosowanych im. Jana Pawła II, 2022-12-30) Bite-Trpkovici, Melinda ; Pálvölgyi, Ágnes ; Morvay-Sey, Kata ; Premusz, Viktória ; Makai, Alexandra ; Ács, Pongrác
Background. Playing sports entails numerous forms of stress that athletes need to be able to manage in order to deliver the desired performance. It is also important that they release any accumulated tension in a way that would enable them to be more assertive. Material and methods. The sample consisted of 147 athletes (age 13.93±1.22). The validated Hungarian version of the Buss-Perry (1992) Aggression Questionnaire (BPAQ) and the State- Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children were utilized in the research (STAI-C). The statistical analyses were examined through SPSS 24.0. software, where values p≤0.05 were considered significant. Results. Trait aggression had a positive correlation with state anxiety (r=0.17; p=0.04) and trait anxiety as well (r=0.17; p≤0.01). A positive correlation has been found between verbal aggression and trait anxiety (r=0.19; p=0.03), and state anxiety (r=0.17; p=0.44). A positive correlation can also be found between physical aggression and trait (r=0.28; p≤0.01) and state anxiety (r=0.16; p<0.05). Trait anxiety has been found higher in female athletes (33.47±7.01) than in males (29.75±5.81)(t=-3.24; p=0.04). Conclusions. Based on the results, it was found that there is a strong correlation between anxiety and aggression. Thus, as it is crucial for everyday people to have appropriate coping skills, it would be also important for athletes.

Examination of physical activity and subjective well-being before and during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic amongst the Hungarian sportsmen and professionals in the sports sector
(Akademia Bialska Nauk Stosowanych im. Jana Pawła II, 2022-12-30) Derkács, Evelin ; Makai, Alexandra ; Stocker, Miklós ; Simon, Klára ; Prémusz, Viktória ; Elbert, Gábor ; Tóth, Dorottya ; Ács, Pongrác
Background. The aim of the research was to analyze the changing exercising frequency, the well-being, the mental health, and the social relationships before and during the curfew of the COVID-19 first wave. Material and methods. The data collection was May-June in 2020 via an online questionnaire survey amongst the sportsmen and professionals in the sports sector. The descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used with the SPSS 27.0 software (Chi-square test, Wilcoxon, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests). Results. The respondents were 44.17% female and 55.83% male. The average age was 36.36±16.52 years. The sample was classified into four sectors: elite sportsmen (20.60%), recreational sportsmen (34.29%), sports professionals (28.21%) and multiple roles (16.90%). There was a significant difference at the exercising frequency before and during the curfew between the sectors (p<0.001). The wellbeing, the mental health and the social relations did not show any significant differences. Regarding physical activity, there were decreases in every category: -268.36 minutes weekly average in the elite sportsmen, -194.90 minutes weekly average in the recreational sportsmen and -250.33 minutes weekly average in the multiple roles’ category (p<0.001). Conclusions. The curfew of the COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on the exercising frequency and physical activity amongst the sportsmen and professionals in the sports sector.
